Gili Re’i joined Sikkuy in February 2015. She has nearly two decades experience in NGO’s in Israel in the fields of education, social change and human rights. In 1999 she joined the New Israel Fund staff, first as the Assistant to the Associate Directors, and later as a grant officer. In 2003, she became the Executive Director of the NGO, Commitment to Peace and Social Justice. In 2009 she was appointed Deputy Director of The Association for Civil Rights in Israel (ACRI) – Israel’s largest and oldest human rights organization. In her capacity as ACRI’s Deputy Director, Gili was responsible for ACRI’s public outreach strategy and activities, managing a team of spokespersons, policy advocacy experts, new media and campaign staff. Gili has a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Art History from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. As an activists she has also been involved in various initiatives among them she was on the founding team of the Jerusalem branch of the Social Economic Academy and is co-chair of the Parents Committee at the Max Rayne Hand in Hand Bilingual School in Jerusalem, where both her children are students.
